A Place Called Rainbow Bridge

angel_star_bernese_mountain_dog_photosculpture-p153838477121236895bfm2r_400

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to
someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are
meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can
run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and
sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to
health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made
whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our
dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone
very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all
run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly
stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are
intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run
from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs
carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special
friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion,
never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your
face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look
once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone
from your life but never absent from your heart
Then, you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Ella, till we meet again…..

I miss your sweet happy face greeting me with such enthusiasm every morning and every day when I walk through the door. I miss your silly wiggle-bum run into the yard where you’d dash about like a young pup trying to get me to play with you and give bum and shoulder rubs. I miss you finding me every evening at 5 o’clock on the dot, because that’s dinner time! And I miss your cute girlie barks if I took too long getting dinner. I really miss cuddle time (bed time) where you’d let me have the edge of the bed to sleep. Most of all I miss my best friend.

Love you forever my Ella-boo!

It is with profound sadness that our Lex has passed away. From the day we picked him up from rescue he was able to make us laugh at his antics.

When I took him for his walks people would comment on how happy he looked, my response was we both where happy.

He became ill suddenly, and on April 10thpassed away in his 12thyear.

“Teddy"

December 25, 2002 --April 4, 2013

teddy

He may have been known in the show ring as Alpenlieb Christmas Spirit- and there he excelled and proved to everyone the champion he was by achieving his Canadian championship - but to his friends and family he was simply Teddy. Teddy was a mischievous puppy that grew to be the most loving companion - our very own Teddy bear.

He was very much loved by neighbours, friends, and most of all by his family. Thanks to Teddy, we made many friends both in the Berner community, as well as around the neighbourhood. He was a local celebrity and a true show stopper anywhere he went. He leaves us with many fond memories and quiet dinnertimes.

We hope you are having fun playing with all your Berner friends and eating lots of Diary Queen ice cream cones.

Sadly missed and never forgotten

Eden

LAST DECEMBER EDEN LEFT ME TO JOIN, ARDEN AND BARON, HER BEST LOVED FRIENDS. AS ALL OF US BERNER PEOPLE KNOW, THERE IS NOTHING HARDER THAN SAYING GOODBYE TO OUR DEAR FRIENDS. AFTER 12 YEARS WITH EDEN I ALMOST BELIEVED SHE WOULD BE WITH ME FOREVER. SHE STILL PLAYED WITH HER TOYS AND WANTED TO FINISH HER ROUTINE NIGHTLY WALK EVEN WHEN YOU COULD TELL SHE WAS GETTING TIRED. HER SPIRIT WAS SO UPLIFTING. SHE ALWAYS WANTED MORE OF LIFE AND WOULD NEVER GIVE UP.

LAST SUMMER WE MADE OUR WAY TO THE BMDCO SPECIALTY AND WE WERE 15 MINUTES LATE FOR THE PARADE OF VETERENS. IT WAS SO DISAPOINTING AS WE HAD DRIVEN FROM TORONTO AND I KNEW EDEN WANTED TO DO THIS ONE MORE TIME. LUCKILY THE JUDGES WANTED HER TO HAVE THIS MOMENT SO WE SHE WAS ALLOWED TO PARADE AROUND THE RING ON HER OWN. EDEN GOT HER RIBBON AND IMMEDIATELY WANTED TO SHOW IT OFF SO SHE HEADED OVER TO JANE AND PHIL’S TENT TO SAY HI AND SHARE HER JOY AND LOVE WITH EVERYONE.

SO I WILL SAY GOODBYE ONCE AGAIN TO EDEN BUT REMIND HER THAT SHE IS ALWAYS WITH ME.

THANK YOU EDEN FOR BEING SUCH A GOOD FRIEND.

If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver then you believe, stronger then you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart,

I'll always be with you.
